Fire protection for commercial and industrial premises

A fire can endanger people and disrupt your operations. We design, install and maintain fire detection and evacuation alarm systems to detect fires promptly and support safe evacuation.

Timely fire detection and supporting safe evacuation

If a fire is not detected in time or if safety systems do not work together properly, valuable time can be lost during an evacuation. We design and install fire alarm systems (FAS) to detect and locate fires, while voice alarm and evacuation systems (VA/ES) alert staff and visitors. Together, we identify which systems are required and mandatory, based on your building’s function and characteristics.

Our specialists integrate fire safety with access control, lifts, doors and building management systems, so that all necessary safety measures operate automatically in the event of a fire alarm. We test both individual systems and their interoperability. We support new-build, extensions and upgrades, including maintenance and a 24/7 callout service. All work is coordinated around building use and any ongoing operational processes.

  • Fire alarm systems (FAS)

We design and install fire alarm systems, including detectors, wiring, infrastructure and any required alarm transmission.

  • Voice alarm and evacuation systems (VA/ES)

We install evacuation alarm systems to ensure staff, visitors and other occupants receive timely alerts in the event of an emergency.

  • Integration with other systems

By integrating fire safety with for example access control, lifts, doors and building management systems, we increase overall fire safety.

  • Maintenance and modification

Have existing or outdated systems maintained, modified or upgraded. We inspect, test, service and improve systems with full consideration for ongoing business processes.

When is a fire alarm system required?

The Building Works and Living Environment Decree (Bbl) specifies when a fire alarm system (FAS) is mandatory, based on the building’s use, floor area and height. In some cases, there are also requirements for alarm signalling and a valid inspection certificate.

We follow NEN 2535 for the technical design, execution, compatibility and quality of fire safety systems. For voice alarm and evacuation systems, we follow NEN 2575. Management, inspections and maintenance are performed according to NEN 2654, as set out in the Bbl.

Are you experiencing recurring faults, false alarms or is replacement of certain components no longer possible? If your installation no longer meets current requirements, we can help you with adjustments or upgrades. Avoid increasing fire risk or problems only being identified at inspection. Frequently asked questions

When is a fire detection system required?

A fire detection system (BMI) in fire protection is required based on the purpose and the use of a building. The Living Environment (Buildings) Decree (Bbl) sets out when a BMI is compulsory and what the monitoring, alarm transmission and certification must comply with. We are happy to advise you on this subject.

What is the difference between a BMI and an OAI?

The fire detection system (BMI) detects and alerts in the event of fire. An evacuation alarm system (OAI) warns people present, to ensure they can leave the building safely. For BMI we work in accordance with NEN 2535; for OAI we work in accordance with NEN 2575.

Does a fire detection system require regular maintenance?

Yes, you are required to have the fire detection system serviced periodically if this is required by law. NEN 2654 describes how the management, inspection and maintenance should be organised. If an inspection certificate is required, it is usually valid for three years. If alarm transmission is required the validity period is one year. We are happy to review with you what is required in your specific situation.
