Complex turbine overhaul at a waste processing plant
During a maintenance shutdown at a waste processing plant, we carried out a complete turbine overhaul. Our specialists handled dismantling, inspection, overhaul, reassembly and alignment. The associated pumps, coolers, valves, gearboxes and generators also received maintenance.
Maintenance tailored to operation and running hours
Turbine maintenance requires specialist knowledge and careful preparation. Inspection and overhaul intervals depend on operating conditions, running hours and maintenance agreements with the client. In addition to complete overhauls, interim bearing inspections are also carried out.
Complete dismantling and overhaul
During the shutdown, our specialists completely dismantled the turbine. We then inspected the components, measured various clearances, reconditioned parts and replaced wear components. Finally, we reassembled and aligned the turbine.
We also maintained the other components of the turbine installation, including oil pumps, oil coolers, valves, gearboxes and generators.
Working day and night shifts
The scale of the work and the interdependence of the tasks required precise planning. Four to five technicians worked on the project each day, across two ten-hour shifts.
With this staffing arrangement, we completed the overhaul in approximately one month, from dismantling through to reassembly and alignment.
