Sustainable weed control using waste heat

Together with Megacon, we worked on a weed control installation in Alkmaar for waste and energy company HVC. Waste heat from the energy-from-waste plant heats water that HVC uses to control weeds. We provided the electrical installation and control system.

From design to panel building and installation

Our engineers designed the electrical installation and control system. We then built the control panel in our own workshop, tailored to the system’s requirements.

Our technicians installed the panel on site, with support from Gerjac Transport BV. They also installed the surrounding electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, instrumentation and cabling.

Loading systems for HVC’s tankers

We provided loading systems that allow HVC’s tankers to fill up with hot water. The tankers then transport the water for weed control across North Holland.

A new use for waste heat

The installation enables HVC to use waste heat to heat water for weed control. Through our electrical engineering, panel building and control systems, we helped bring this installation into operation.
