Repair, overhaul and replacement of servomotors

A faulty servomotor can cause your machine to lose position accuracy or stop operating. Looking to have your servomotor repaired or replaced? We will repair the motor or supply a new one, tailored to your application.

Servomotors for precise motion

On robots, CNC machines, and packaging lines, a servomotor must execute movements with precision. If the position feedback is incorrect, the machine may move inaccurately or stop with a fault message. We investigate both the mechanical and electrical operation to determine where the problem arises. This includes checking the encoder or resolver that relays the position back to the control system. After carrying out the repair, we test and calibrate the servomotor, ensuring it once again responds correctly to the controller.

A new servomotor can be expensive and subject to long lead times. For older machines, the same type may no longer be available. That is why we assess whether repair or overhaul is possible, allowing you to retain your existing motor and connections. Our testing and calibration equipment enables us to inspect and restore even older types. If replacement is the better option, we advise on a suitable new servomotor and can supply it for you.

  • Repair of all brands of servomotors

We work independently of any brand. We can repair and overhaul servomotors from many brands and types.

  • Experience with encoders and resolvers

If you have problems with an encoder, resolver or other parts of the feedback system, we can assess and resolve the issue.

  • Mechanical and electrical repairs

Need a bearing or brake replaced? We can test, rewind and balance the rotor in our workshop.

  • Also for older types

Is an older servomotor no longer available? With our advanced test and calibration equipment, we can thoroughly analyse, repair, adjust and calibrate it for reliable operation.

Repair or replacement of servomotors

New servomotors can be expensive and have long lead times. In particular, for older types, a direct replacement may no longer be available. Thanks to our repair and overhaul work, we restore your existing drive system to its original condition. In addition, the servomotor is guaranteed to fit the existing machine interface.

Once we have established a diagnosis, our own engineers can disassemble, inspect, and then replace or repair the necessary components of the servomotor. Where required, we follow this up with balancing, testing, and detailed reporting.

Is replacement the best option? If so, you want clear advice on what is possible. You can also rely on us for new servomotors. We advise, supply and support you in selecting the right replacement solution.

For repair and overhaul of rotating electrical machines, we work in accordance with the quality framework of NEN-EN-IEC 60034-23. For balancing, we apply the procedures and tolerances set out in ISO 21940-11.

Frequently asked questions

What does rewinding an electric motor involve?

When we rewind an electric motor, we replace the faulty winding. We install new windings and insulation and test the motor after the repair. This allows you to reuse your existing drive system.

When is rewinding a better option than replacing the motor?

Rewinding can be the best solution if a replacement motor is not available, has a long lead time, or if switching requires modifications to your installation. We assess the condition of your motor and discuss the costs and turnaround time so you can compare rewinding with replacement.

Will the electric motor still fit in the same location after rewinding?

Yes. When we rewind a motor, we retain the existing motor, original dimensions and connections. No adaptations to the installation are needed.
